About

My name is Renato Polimeno, I am 24 years old.

I was born in a small city called Mogi Das Cruzes – São Paulo where I grew up in the early 1990s.

Nearly my high school ending around 2004, I didn´t know what I could do for a living. So I decided to take one Computer Graphics course at SENAC and then I saw myself entering a 3D world for the first time. There was no looking back ever since.

After a year I got an internship at Status Filmes to learn photography and video editing. In the mean time I was discovering art fileds related to animation such as drawing, sketching, storyboard, character design, traditional animation, games and digital medias.

In 2006 I was 3D generalist at a TV station called TV Diário mostly working with compositions and post-productions. After a while I was invited to be Rigger at Maria Bonita Filmes and there I discovered my real passion for all the technical aspects of 3D animation.

In 2007 I did my first Rigging freelancer for Multishow within Renato Ferro and his brother Ricardo, two guys who became friends and inspired me tremendously.

Around January of 2008 I worked as a Lead Character Rigger at Posimidia during a six-month contract period. It was very nice living in Rio Grande do Sul! I had great times being on a talented small crew. When I got back I participated in a short film project called Ta Na Cara by Ekke Studio as remote Lead Character Rigger.

After that I got a chance to work at Tribbo Post, one of the most renowned VFX companie in Brazil, where I stayed from 2009 to february of 2011 as Lead Character Technical Director. Now I´m currently a remote Technical Consultant for Studio Nitro. I’m also available to do freelance work.

I´ll finish my graduation journey on traditional animation at Anhembi Morumbi University on 2013.

I have being dedicating myself through these years in both rigging and programming fields, putting all my efforts to improve my professional skills every day and to keep doing what I love in the best way I can.

Some of my interests besides CG include playing the bass, doing gigs with a few fellas and garage bands, listening to good music, watching movies, relaxing, hiking with my dog, hang out with my girlfriend, taking some picutres, going to theaters, traveling, visiting exhibitions and enjoying music festivals.
